Anneliesa Liedle
Romance-focused fiction writer based in Denver, Colorado. Currently querying their debut novel.
I write character-driven stories where love isn't a destination — it's the thing that cracks people open and forces them to grow. My characters are messy, stubborn, and real. They don't fall into love so much as crash into it.
I'm drawn to stories that push back against harmful tropes — the ones that romanticize control, erase agency, or treat trauma as a personality trait. I believe romance can be intense, complicated, even dark, without being careless with the people in it.
My work spans genres — from the gravel roads of international rally racing to dying generation ships to the Egyptian underworld — but the through-line is always the same: complicated people trying to be honest with each other, usually failing first, and earning something real by the end.
What I Write
- Motorsport Romance — adrenaline, trust, and the intimacy of a two-person crew
- Fantasy & Sci-Fi Romance — world-building that serves the relationship, not the other way around
- Dark Fantasy Romance — mythology reimagined, power dynamics examined, consent centered
Beyond the Page
When I'm not writing, I'm probably watching rally highlights, researching obscure mythology, or convincing myself that the next chapter will be easier than the last one. I live in Denver with an ever-growing collection of half-finished notebooks and strong opinions about fictional people.
